HourTrail is operated by Hinners Software (“we”). This policy explains what the HourTrail desktop app and website collect and why.

What the desktop app collects

• The name of the app in front of you, its window title and program path, and when you started and stopped using it.
• Nothing else: no screenshots, keystrokes, clipboard contents, file contents, browsing history or microphone/camera data.
• Apps on your “never record” list are skipped entirely. Apps on your “private” list are recorded without their window titles. Both are applied on your computer before anything is uploaded.

Account data

• Your email address (and name/photo if you sign in with Google), the clients, rules and settings you create, and your subscription status.
• Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

How we use it

Only to provide the service to you: showing your timeline, applying your rules, producing reports and managing your subscription. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.

Where it's stored

On our hosting provider (Vercel) and database provider (Neon), and email delivery provider (Resend) for sign-in links. Data is encrypted in transit.

Your choices

• Export all of your time as CSV at any time from Reports.
• Delete individual entries, unlink computers, or ask us to delete your account and all data by emailing support@example.com.
